They quickly find themselves in a dystopian version of Danville, a grey, oppressive world where summer vacation has been outlawed by a truly evil, tyrannical version of Dr. Doofenshmirtz ("Doof-2") who rules the Tri-State Area with an army of robotic enforcers known as Norm Bots. The situation worsens when Phineas discovers Perry’s double life as a secret agent, leading to a painful confrontation where he feels betrayed by his best friend. The group must put aside their differences, team up with their own 2nd Dimension counterparts, and join a ragtag "Resistance" to stop Doof-2 from invading their dimension. The film culminates in an epic battle where the power of friendship and an unlikely sacrifice from the original Dr. Doofenshmirtz saves both dimensions.

Developed by High Impact Games for the PlayStation 3 and Wii, Altron for the Nintendo DS, and Virtual Toys for the PlayStation Portable, the game offered unique experiences tailored to each platform. Console versions, such as those for the PS3 and Wii, allowed for drop-in/drop-out two-player co-op, enabling fans to team up as Phineas and Ferb to navigate levels, solve puzzles, and battle enemies. The PS3 version also featured compatibility with the PlayStation Move motion controller. For players on the go, the Nintendo DS version offered over 30 levels across five unique worlds, where players could take control of Phineas, Ferb, or Agent P. In 2012, a digital download version of the game was also released for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. Movement and combat are standard across most levels,

Stripped of personality and reprogrammed for pure compliance.

For completionists, there is a decent amount of content here. You can replay levels to find hidden garden gnomes (a series staple) and unlock new gadgets. However, once the 4-6 hour campaign is finished, there isn't much reason to return unless you are hunting for a 100% completion rating. Use the + Control Pad (Up/Down) to switch between them

The strongest asset this game has is its writing. The movie Across the 2nd Dimension is widely considered the peak of the series, and the game retains that sharp wit.

The same batteries can also be spent in an in-game shop to buy new outfits and clothes for Phineas, Ferb, and Perry, allowing players to add a personal touch to their favorite characters. The DS version also includes a Perry-Ball minigame, which is a skee-ball variant, and a toy claw machine, rewarding players with tickets to spend on unlockables and upgrades.

Any Phineas and Ferb product lives or dies by its music. The game features instrumental versions of the film’s hit songs, including:
